The Adam's Foundation is currently incorporated in the State of Kansas and can accept donations within Kansas. The Adams
Foundation is applying for 501(c3) tax exempt status as a public charity.
We will be speaking at schools, church groups etc. to raise awareness of the epidemic of suicide among our teens. We will educate and raise awareness about the signs of suicide and prevent suicides through education. We will also create and online support group for at risk individuals and suicide survivor families for support and resource information.
Our Needs
Adams Foundation requires financing for operating costs, advertising, website, personal training and traveling costs pursuant to it's planned start up.
The Adams Foundation is currently working with Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services and other regional groups for referral, resourcing and support.
We are currently in the process of applying for Federal Tax Exemption, grant monies, private sector funding as well as public funding to optain status as a public charitable foundation.
A little about the Founder and her Family
The founder of Adams Foundation is Adams mother, Kat Chrisman. Adam Spackman committed suicide by shooting on May 24th, 2002, two months and 1 days before his 21st birthday. Just two weeks later, Adams sister, Meagan, suffered a severe braing injury and numerous severe physical injuries from a near fatal car accident on June 9th, 2002. Kat Chrisman also created a nonprofit corporation named for her daughter, Meagan's Foundation, Inc. for persons living with severe head injury. Adams Foundation
Adams Foundation is starting from scratch....literally. We have no funding, all filing of paperwork to all agencies to incorporate, gain nonprofit status, etc. is being done by founder and friends who have seen the need and been kind enough to volunteer their time and energy.
